Dress Code

Tops: 

  • No pictures, emblems, or writings on clothing that: 
    • are lewd, offensive, vulgar, or obscene
    • advertises or depicts tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, drugs, or any other illegal substance
    • contains fighting words or incites criminal activity
  • No cut off tops (no midriff can be showing)
  • No strapless garments
  • No see-through garments
  • Designed so that the neckline does not reveal cleavage
  • Designed to cover all undergarments
  • Fit properly
  • Tank top straps must be at least 2 inches wide
  • Shoulder blades and midriff must be covered
  • Proper undergarments must be worn under all clothing
  • No corsets or undergarments are to be worn on the outside of regular clothing

Shorts: 

  • Length should be atleast 7 inches below the bend of the leg
  • Fit properly – no oversized or tight shorts
  • No see-through shorts

Dresses/Skirts: 

  • Length may not exceed 3 inches above the top of the knee
  • Splits may not exceed 3 inches above the top of the knee

Pants: 

  • Proper fit
    • no sagging or baggy fit – worn at the waist
    • no see-through pants
    • leggings/jeggings/tights may be worn only under shirts and dresses that are mid-thigh or fingertip length
    • no pajama-style pants

Shoes:

  • Must be worn at all times and fastened properly
  • No bedroom slippers
  • No shoes with wheels

Accesories:

  • Hats, caps, sweatbands, or any type of hood (hoodie) will not be worn in buildings
  • No gang-related clothing or items will be allowed
  • No bandanas, do-rags (male or female) visible anywhere on the body
  • No trench coats
  • No blankets
  • No spiked jewelry
  • Sunglasses may not be worn over the eyes inside the building

Final Exam Exemption Policy

  • Students are only eligible to exempt final exams. All students will be required to participate in a midterm exam in all year long courses. 
  • Conditions for exemption of a Nine Weeks, Semester, and Final Exam (each class period stands alone): 
    • “A” average with 3 or fewer excused absences for any Nine Weeks or Semester long courses.
    • “A” average with 6 or fewer excused absences for any Year long courses. 
    • “B” average with 2 or fewer excused absences for any Nine Weeks or Semester long courses.
    • “B” average with 3 or fewer excused absences for any Year long courses. 
    • Perfect Attendance and a “C” average for any Nine Weeks, Semester, or Year long courses.
  • A student who is eligible to be exempt from an exam may take the exam with the option that the exam grade will not make a negative impact on their final grade. 
  • Absences related to school functions will not count against perfect attendance. 
  • In the event of the following, a student will lose his/her test exemption:
    • unexcused absence
    • more than 3 days of in-school suspension (ISS)
    • more than 3 tardies (applies per class)
    • assignment to alternative school
  • Students who take CTE courses will be able to exempt the final exam within their course/program if they earn a CTE credential during the duration of their course. Earning a Career Readiness Indicator qualifies a student an elective exemption during the year it is earned.
