Excused Absences:

  • An absence may be excused for the following reasons:
    1. The student is too ill to attend school. (parent or doctor’s note)
    2. Inclement weather that would be dangerous to the life and health of the student if he/she attended school. (parent note)
    3. Legal quarantine. (parent or doctor’s note)
    4. Death in the immediate family. (parent note)
    5. Emergency conditions as determined by the superintendent or principal. (Superintendent/Principal)
  • Parent Excuses ~ ONLY VALID EXCUSES FOR 5 DAYS PER SEMESTER (Ex: Parent writes a note to excuse three days = 3 parent notes)
  • All documentation for absences must be received within 3 days, or the absence will be unexcused.
  • Students may make up work if the absence is excused. This work must be completed within five school days.

Check PowerSchool daily. If you notice an absence code has not changed in PowerSchool, please contact Mrs. McJunkins within the first 10 days of the absence. No modifications will be made after this time period.

Unexcused Absences:

  • Any absence other than those listed above is unexcused. Students who are unexcused from school will receive a zero for any assignments/tests given on this day. Students can make up work during Saturday School with the permission of the school administration.

Documentation of Prolonged Absences:
